Stockcense :: Learn the Micro Sector
Welcome to the improved Stockcense. Changes are coming and may take some time. The Stockcense community specializes in small cap and micro cap stock trading and investing.

Where did we come from? From the old clunky message boards to thriving communities that shaped the modern internet, forums are basically the predecessors of the Reddit's, the Discord's, and the rest of social media.
There are and were automobile collector forums, gaming forums, sports forums, gardening forums, and the list goes on. People formed online communities that often lasted for decades. These forums were everywhere. If you wanted to learn anything from playing a guitar to coding a new program to exploring conspiracy theories, you’d end up in one of these forums.
Stock market and investing forums emerged from the crowd as a means of learning the ropes of investing. "Silicon Investor" was considered the first major online stock-market forum. Another popular example was the "Motley Fool" discussion boards as they grew rapidly when retail investors got online. "RagingBull" also emerged as one of the most active day-trader spaces.
And of course, "Yahoo! Finance" message boards which became hugely influential for small investors. These are just some of the forum-style resources that influenced investing earlier this century. Exploring individual stocks, rumors and speculation, and of course company earnings were and are popular and educational discussions.

Stay tuned as we add a forum for the small cap and micro cap sector. This will include some fun memes, shareable video clips, and an opportunity for guests to post pertinent content.
Stockcense allows guest posting since it is known to increase participation. It Lowers the barrier to entry, in other words, if people can post without creating an account, they’re more likely to jump in quickly, especially the casual users, new-comers, or people who are on the shy side.
It also increases the volume of conversation. We hope for more posts, more individual threads, and more responses. We'd like to make Stockcense feel more lively, which can attract even more activity. Also guest posting allows anonymous discussion for those who don't want to be online-famous and would prefer to remain unidentifiable. Overall, reducing the friction for posting the first time can help get momentum for those who like to ask questions as well.
Why Trade and Invest in Micro's?

Retail traders tend to flock to the micro-cap stocks for a mix of purely psychological, routinely structural, and market-friendliness. Some of the biggest drivers are the possibility of “lottery-ticket” style returns.
Micro's can move from 10 to 100% or more in a single trading day due to high volume on thin liquidity. These returns are very attractive to the novice or retail investor who may not have large sums of money to invest.
Micro-caps are frequently promoted on social media sites, mentioned in stockmarket forums such as this one, featured in newsletters as the next big thing, and highly subject to rumors. So the "hype factor" definitely plays a role in the micro-play market. These low cost stocks may be worth a look if you are new to the market or if you just want some excitement. The possibility is always there for those who wish to play this side of the market.
